Harvey Dent, Gotham's White Knight, is dead, and with him, the hopes of those who believed he could defeat organized crime in Gotham once and for all. The Joker is loose, and while he hasn't been heard from in the last few weeks, city officials believe that it's only a matter of time before he shows his face again. Sociopaths are escaping from Arkham, Batman is a wanted man, and the candidates for the vacated Disctrict Attorney position are too busy mudslinging to get any real planning done. Many are starting to fear that without a leader to take charge, things may slip back into the chaos that existed before...

'so wear me like a locket around your throat, I'll weigh you down, I'll watch you choke... you look so good in blue, you look so good in bluee' Bella smiled to herself as she sang along to the shop's music inside her head. She was browsing the racks of CDs inside "Soundwave" the unique and imaginative name of the music shop she was in, one of the smaller shops, it was often over looked for the big mainstream music shops inside the mall, but this one was located just outside, and stocked a lot more bands then the others. She found what she was looking for, paid for it at the counter then made her way inside on her search for the food court. In the past few months she'd found herself becoming fairly addicted to Slurpees, and it was this addiction that now led her to a small, bright shop that had a rather large, self serve slurpee machine. And being the addict that she was she went for the largest cup they had, a huge thing made out of clear plastic with the words "JUMBO" written across it in bright purples and pinks. A tiny bit of sour grape, and equally tiny bit of creamy soda, a slightly larger amount of coke and then raspberry filled up to the top. paying for it and wincing as she realized her wallet was getting lighter she slowly walked off to do some window shopping.

Bell had always loved shopping by herself, you didn't have to be considerate of other people's wants and needs, you didn't find yourself in shops that you didn't want to be in. instead you could go where you liked, whenever you liked for how ever long you please. It was with this thought that she was left with before her life ended.

Or so she thought when the impact first hit her. She raised herself into a sitting position to meet the gaze of the kid who'd smacked into her. Some young boy, probably early teens was looking back at her with a look of utter horror as he realized what he'd done. At around the same time she became aware of a cold, seeping feeling happening somewhere down near her crotch, she glanced down to see the remainder of her slurpee soaking into her favorite pair of jeans and leaving a large, wet patch behind... it look like she'd peed herself. no it looked worse, as if that was even possible. she frowned, trying to feel angry at the boy, but instead she could only muster up feelings of mild annoyance, she was fairly sure she'd done worse at his age. "I'm so so so so so sorry!" he cried, trying to wipe the unmelted slurpee off her. Suddenly feeling just a tad bit violated she pushed him away and scrambled back up to her feet, "s'ok, no harm done" she muttered as she collected her bag that she'd dropped. she tried to give the kid a smile, it came out as more of a grimace and she turned to try and find the nearest bathroom to try and clean herself up.. awesome, totally awesome

She emerged from the toilets a little while later feeling slightly sticky but at least not wet anymore. She'd managed to use one of the silly hand dryers to dry most of the mess up, much to the amusement of anyone who had come in while she was half standing, half leaning against the wall with her legs wide open. She was sure she'd see the funny side one day.. like when she was 80 and wrinkled. Straightening her bag, and fluffing up her hair again, she decided she wasn't going to let this minor inccident get her down, instead she would continue on with her original plan of going to the bookstore to see if they had anything new that appealed to her, she just hoped she didn't have any other unfortunate incidents or accidents coming her way today.
